Biography

I was born in London at a very young age and began writing in my early teens. It has always been a passion of mine. I began writing comedy. In fact, I still occasionally do. I used to write radio comedy and theatrical plays with a partner, as well as writing on my own.

I am pleased to say that I have had a modicum of success with comedy writing and have a number of plays available to buy on two online websites.

I now concentrate on novels.

I have written many western books. My love of the western genre comes from television, movies and books. I love the spirit of the wild west where anything is attainable if it is wanted badly enough.

I also have an English detective series and I will have a new book out in November 2024 entitled Bed And Breakfast, which is a wartime spy story and whodunnit, set in an English seaside resort during the second world war.

I live just outside London in the county of Essex, married to my very long-suffering wife for over forty wonderful years. I have two amazing daughters, both teachers, who keep me in my place and four amazing grandchildren.

I may no longer be the ambitious teenager that liked to write comedy, but I am still the ambitious author who loves to write novels and there are plenty more to come.

Ghost Town: A Western Adventure

cover_B0D6GPL57K.png

The story starts with Bertram Wright, a politician who has ambitions of becoming the next president. He undertakes a public relations journey by stagecoach with his family from Richmond to San Antonio. Although escorted by a cavalry troop, the journey is extremely dangerous, particularly as they could travel through Apache Indian country where there had recently been a significant uprising. The journey is not only clouded in danger, but there are secrets, affairs, and corruption within the family and Bertram Wright's staff. There is something very suspicious going on.

At the same time, Reno Cassidy, a fast gun who was once a friend of Marshal Jake Kramer, finds himself in the marshal's jail, accused of murder. The victim, Tyrone McClintock, a much-loved saloon bartender, owed Reno money, and there are witnesses to say that Cassidy killed him when Tyrone didn't pay him the money he was due. Reno Cassidy denies this, but a hateful mob appears outside the jail demanding Cassidy should be hung. The marshal decides it would be best to get Reno out of town and be tried somewhere else. So with the help of his estranged daughter and his loyal deputy, that's what they do.

cover_B0DPJBJ12S (2).png

The year is 1943 and Britain is bracing for the possible invasion from Nazi Germany. But things are not always as they seem. Espionage on both sides is rife.

In the seaside town of Dillington On Sea, the Shangri La Bed and Breakfast is still open for business, and to the owner, Ruby Nelson’s surprise, the guest house is full up.

But are the guests there for a holiday, or is there so much more going on?

There is murder, espionage, romance, and a trickle of comedy.

Plus, what is the meaning of The Book of Songs, a collection of verses by Heinrich Heine, published as Buch der Lieder in 1827?

Bed and Breakfast is a wartime whodunnit and a spy story wrapped into one.
